Mason-Dixon Fair Food

Another north-south culture clash thing, having grown up in Michigan, and moved to Florida.  What is UP with the fair food down here in the South?!

Growing up, you’d go to a fair in the North and be able to eat corn dogs, turkey legs, elephant ears, french fries, fresh-squeezed limeade and funnel cakes.

Down here it’s deep-fried Twinkies, deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried Snickers bars, deep-fried Kool-Ade — what the hell?  How the eff do you deep-fry a beverage?

Now…I’m not saying I liked all of the fair food up north.  Truthfully, I can barely stand a corn dog on a good day.  But I could go to the fair hungry and expect to come home without a thrombosis and the diabeetus.
